Another podium finish for ATS-Racing

Last weekend it was the Grand Finale for the Swedish GT Championship at Mantorp Park. Aleksander Schjerpen drove the ATS-Racing Ginetta G50 GT4, and did it in style!

The weekend started with practice on Friday, Aleks went out on track, and after a quick pit stop to adjust the car, ATS-Racing and Aleks where the fastest GT4 car on track. Later that day it was qualifying, Aleks went out on a few installation laps, before he went to the pit. The mechanics adjusted the car a little, and Aleks went out for a few flying laps. The Ginetta G50 was flying, and Aleks set the fastest time in the GT4 category putting the norwegian team in pole on the final race!

Saturday morning was raceday! Aleks was confident before getting out on track, and it showed. After a great start he had a little battle with a Aston Martin GT4 for 1st place. Aleks manage to pull away from the rest of the field and got a few second gap down to 2nd and 3rd. After 20 minutes one of the cars got of track and stopped, bringing out the safety car, the pitlane was still closed. After three laps behind safetycar the pitlane opened and two of the GT4 cars went to the pits. Aleks had radio failure in his car, leaving him without any help from the pit. Aleks pitted one lap to late, leaving him in 3rd position, 30 seconds behind. Aleks did the fastest lap times in the GT4 category but it was not enough to catch the leaders.

Aleks came in 3rd in the race, and that means ATS-Racing and Aleks came home 3rd in the Championship. A good result in their debut season in the Swedish GT Championship.
