Schjerpen set for British GT return with BMW & Century Motorsport

Norway’s leading GT racing driver Aleksander Schjerpen is set to return to the team he achieved much success with over the last number of years when he burst onto the British GT scene, Century Motorsport. He will join forces with Jack Mitchell in the second of their brand new BMW M4 GT4.

Having only concluded a deal to team up earlier this week, it has unfortunately meant that Schjerpen will miss the championship’s customary Easter weekend opening round at Oulton Park, but instead begin his British GT return at Corby’s Rockingham Motor Speedway, a circuit that holds many fond memories for Schjerpen where he finished 2nd in GT4 on his last visit in 2016.

Schjerpen enjoyed a mixed campaign of events in 2017 that included racing a Lamborghini Huracán in the Creventic 24H Series at famous circuits that included Imola, Circuit of the America’s and Dubai Autodrome, with much success along the way. But Aleksander also made a one-off return to British GT with Century aboard their Ginetta G55 GT3, where along with teammate Charlie Robertson achieved the cars best finish of the season in tenth position overall.

However with plenty of unfinished business in one of Europe’s most popular GT series, Aleksander is more ready than ever for his return aboard one of the most eagerly awaited manufacturers in the series this year.

Aleksander Schjerpen – #43 Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT4:
“I am very pleased to be back racing with Century Motorsport again. We have enjoyed a lot of success in the past and I am looking forward to building on that. It almost feels like I never left, we did one race together last year in the Ginetta GT3, and it’s always a pleasure working with the whole team. I am looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the new BMW M4 and I think we will be on the pace from the get go.”

Opening Round:
Rockingham Motor Speedway, Corby, UK – Sunday 29th April 2018.
